The BasketballEvents of the ISU Intramurals 2023
The ISU Intramurals 2023 is in full swing, and one of the most exciting and competitive events is the basketball. The basketball event features six categories: Basketball Boys, Basketball Girls, 5 vs 5 basketball boys, 5 vs 5 basketball girls, 3 vs 3 basketball boys, and 3 vs 3 basketball girls. The participants are divided into six teams, each representing a different course or program of the university: Polytechnic School - Blue Falcons, College of Criminal Justice Education - Red Wildcats, Information Technology - Purple Archers, College of Education - White Wolverine, Hospitality Management - Yellow Jaguars, and DAT- BAT- Green Fighters. The teams compete in a round-robin format, where each team plays against every other team once. The team with the most wins in each category will be declared the champion.
The basketball event started on November 15, and it was clear from the beginning that three teams were dominating the court: College of Criminal Justice Education - Red Wildcats, Polytechnic School - Blue Falcons, Hospitality Management - Yellow Jaguars. The 3 teams showed their skills, teamwork, and determination in every game, as they defeated their opponents with impressive scores. Here are some of the highlights and results from the basketball event:
-DAT-BAT Basketball girls shows a spirit of a true baller as they bowed down BS Info Tech girls in Basketball, 37-14, in Intramurals 2023 held at ISU-AC Basketball Court on November 15.

Congratulations ! To the home of the champions - CCJE , won the championship on the overall basketball boys. Also, congratulations to Polytechnic school and Hospitality Management for making to the secong and third place. The CCJE team earned the most points for their program, giving them an edge in the overall standings of the intramurals.
The other teams also showed their spirit and sportsmanship, as they played their best and congratulated the winners.
The basketball event was a successful and enjoyable event, thanks to the active participation and cooperation of each program and college. The event also showcased the culture, sports, and SDGs of the ISU community, as well as the potential of the ISUans. However, the event also faced some challenges and difficulties, such as the schedules, the weather conditions, and the courts. As a participant and a blogger, I would like to share my insight on these issues.
First, the schedules were not organized well. This caused confusion and frustration among the players and the audience. Some games were also rescheduled to the next day, which affected the performance and the preparation of the teams. I think the organizers should have planned the schedules more carefully and realistically, and communicated them clearly and promptly to the participants and the audience.
Second, the weather conditions were not favorable, as it was too rainy during the event. The weather also affected the quality and the enjoyment of the games, as some shots were missed, some passes were dropped, and some fouls were committed. I think the players and the spectators should have been more prepared and protected from the weather.
Third, the courts were far away from each other, as some games were held at the ISU-AC Basketball court, while some games were held at the Calabayan Minanga Basketball court. This made it difficult and inconvenient for the audience to travel from one court to another, especially when the games were scheduled close to each other.
These are some of the challenges and difficulties that I encountered and observed during the basketball event. I hope that the organizers and the participants will learn from these experiences and improve them in the future. Despite these issues, I still enjoyed and appreciated the basketball event, as it was a great opportunity to showcase and celebrate the culture, sports, and SDGs of the ISU community, as well as the potential of the ISUans. Stay tuned for more updates and highlights from the intramurals, and don't forget to cheer for your team. Remember, we are all champions in our own way!
